NEKTAR LIMITED.

NEKTAR is the sister company of p0llen, established as a second agency with a distinct geographical and cultural focus.

While p0llen is dedicated to representing European artisanal brands within the Chinese market, NEKTAR focuses on the international representation and long-term development of independent Japanese artisanal brands.

NEKTAR emerged from the belief that craftsmanship should not be understood merely as a method of production, but as a cultural practice through which materials, techniques, and histories continue to evolve.

The brands we represent are characterised not by scale, but by authorship. Their practices are rooted in small-scale production, material integrity, and an enduring commitment to craft. Rather than pursuing standardisation or accelerated cycles of consumption, they embrace processes in which variation, temporality, and the trace of the maker remain inseparable from the finished object.

Within this context, international representation cannot be reduced to the circulation of products across geographical boundaries.

The movement of a brand into a new cultural environment requires a parallel movement of meaning.

Every market is shaped by its own historical context, visual literacy, systems of retail, and cultural expectations. The challenge, therefore, is not to adapt a brand to local demand, but to construct the conditions through which its original philosophy may be interpreted, understood, and sustained without compromising its integrity.

NEKTAR operates at the intersection of brand representation, cultural mediation, and market development.

Our practice encompasses international showroom management, wholesale strategy, retail partnerships, market development, and long-term brand positioning. More fundamentally, however, it is concerned with translation—not simply between languages, but between material cultures, aesthetic values, commercial structures, and differing ways of understanding craftsmanship itself.

The name NEKTAR derives from nectar.

Nectar is the concentrated essence of a flower: a medium that attracts, connects, and enables movement without altering the flower from which it originates. It facilitates exchange while preserving identity.

This serves as the conceptual foundation of NEKTAR.

Rather than repositioning brands to conform to international markets, we seek to cultivate the conditions through which their existing cultural and material values may travel with authenticity, establish meaningful relationships within new contexts, and continue to evolve across different cultural landscapes.

Ultimately, NEKTAR is not concerned with the export of products alone, but with the international circulation of craft, cultural knowledge, and enduring creative practices.
